According to Nikkei Business, Apple is prepping to launch new iPhone 5 and iPad 3 models with 4G LTE connectivity next year. The anonymous sources known to Apple product plans stated that LTE based iPad 3 will launch on NTT DoCoMo Japan during the summer next year, and an LTE-enabled iPhone 5 in the fall.
Apple CEO Tim Cook reportedly held a low profile meeting with NTT DoCoMo president Kiyoyuki Tsujimura and VP Takashi Yamada earlier this month to materialize a deal and to make sure that the next generation iPhone and iPad models are compatible on their network.

If rumors are to be believed, the move taken by Tim Cooks and Company will potentially shake up the smartphone business landscape further, and position Apple to better compete with rival Android smart phones. Via BGR
